No it was me having to back out due to a ball breaking Tax demand that has meant the sale of my bike. I refuse to pay interest to the thieving G*Ts so the bike and project funds have had to go to pay the demand off in full. Not wanting to touch the family savings means it will be July time before I have the kitty built up enough to buy another decent bike.

I must say a big thank you to those members that have been in touch offering a loan of a bike until sorted. Thanks guys appreciate it what a great club this is.

HOMEWORK

For those going on the this trip it may help set the context if you have seen

'The Longest Day' and 'Band of Brothers' (well at least the landing programmes.

If you know Band of Brothers, you'll know where the picture was taken.

I'm a lot smaller these days. I wish I had all that hair though!

My father landed on Gold beach with the Hampshire Reg. second wave on day 1 I think. Went through the Falaise gap, Belgium & Germany. he had already been in Egypt, Siege of Malta & landed on Sicily.

Oh and my mate from works coming on his Fazer Thou.
