Triple tree lock stops

Guyz i know these are Hardlys but has anyone used the method shown on these to act as lock stops on any of their builds?,looking to do something similar on zthou...or any other ideas?

Pretty much the standard method on custom or modified yokes and have done plenty like that myself..
Also can people please refrain from using the terms ,Triple tree, Fender, or petcock etc as it's just not british

totally agree, it takes my gayness away.

Paul, as we said before it's an easy way of making a lock stops. There are various ways to go about it, but they're all much of a muchness. Look at some of the old 'bsh' builds or 'awol' or 'streetfighters' they'll all have various methods. Most chops/ custom bikes have slab yolks so need to have lock stops made.(when you've just had a fresh, pink and silver, metalflake, tiger stripe paint job done , you don't want to prang it with your slab yolks )

Looking at some builds, might drill and tap the lower yoke and fit some turned down bolts or make some pegs with a hole to put a Tommy bar in to tighten,have also seen the idea of mounting an eccentric cam on a bolt!

Not sure if you could adapt it/them, but there are steering lock stops available for those American make things that sit in the lower bearing so are hidden from view. Would look neat if you can adapt them

this ones just a simple two stainless cap head bolts into the slabs, the second picture shows you better.

I doubt you'd adapt that version, it's for a HD frame that has separate bearing cups on the headstock.

There is a version for later HD frames with integral bearing cups -

The fixed stop is part of the lower race. I've used them with success, but only on...you guessed it...

Later I will measure the OD of a HD Headrace bearing.
