Six hours one way I reckon, been pondering for weeks but just can't trust a courier with all the bits, six hours to change my mind on the colour ....
Carbs did my head in today and I think the clamp screw should be at the bottom so I'll probably be taking them back off , unless someone can confirm otherwise ?
Cheers

Had a look on mine and the screws are at the bottom, there also at the bottom on the GPz900 as well, hope that helps.

I take it you have never had the pleasure of doing this job on a GPz900

9 hours in mate and I'm back where I started this morning, I've never been so mad at any job I've done ever done.
I've had heat on them but they refuse to stay on the carbs and the spring won't hold them either, they just keep slipping back off, it's as if the rubbers are 1/4" too short , but they were fitted to this bike when I got it.
Anyway I've put the cover over it and don't even want to look at it for a while.
Maybe after Xmas.

New airbox rubbers might be the answer

I only ever fit airboxes with new rubbers, after a mega-struggle years ago, never again

I did the same on the GPz, just give up trying! Bought new ones and had them fitted in 10 minutes!
And to me standard is the way to go, obviously not if your have a Harris project

How can you tell what colour your bike was originally?
I've managed to buy an original R2 exhaust so I am going to go back to stock standard but was wondering about the original colour!
