Cheers JP - but I have been advised not to use stainless as it's not as strong as the originals, and shouldn't be used on crank case halves.
I had thought of buying a pack of these, then using a 4mm washer, or a 2mm washer and and lopping 2mm of the end (would have to check you didn't run out of thread if you start chopping a bolt though), or whatever was needed, but it would be nice to get a proper one if possible.

Dont worry richard, the m6 in t12 stainless is more than strong enough, especially at the torque in crank cases etc. Ive used this material in much tougher enviroments than a bike engine. Dont be concerned in the future, but it looks like the members of this club are your saviours. ....
