plenty of wear left on them yet but i think i will replace them anyway.

it surely has Jimbo, thing is i mot'd it last week, as he was testing the brake and nothing was happening i said id just put new shoes in, he then said "oh, that would be it then, just need bedding in", great mot place, just like the good old days.
but i thought i'd best check why they had failed.

Can see no issue there .....British rail used em all the time they worked fine on 30 ton Locos

Never heard of a drum brake, break :shock: A rivet or two will stop that - you could have broken your neck :!:

inside of the drum had a build up of dried on crud, had to scrape, sand and clean it up before new shoes went in. was keen to get out and try the new brake but the weather has come in :cry:

I have seen this mentioned a few time in the MT RIDERS CLUB, usaully if the bike been standing for a long while,
Having said that, the brake part of the pads on my sons CB125 popped out last year :shock: luckily, he manage bring the bike to a stop.. and I fitted new one..

bike had been standing fora while because starting it was a pig, a new mikuni and a big blob of white paint on the timing wheel to help with the set up and it starts well. :biggrin
