New restoration.

Started big time today restoring a 1981 Z750 twin. Ask myself why did I purchase. Every nut and bolt rusted to hell, but with plenty of WD40 and the blow torch :roll:

managed to free. box full of items to have powder coated and hope to pick up items that req from Stafford show?
Why is it that folk purchase a bike and never do any low cost maintence on them? Had the same with the Z1300. Purchased as all standard bike and never placed a spanner on it. But have bought back to its former glory with a lot of TLC.
Just hope can do the same with the Z750.

Hopefully this one should only take 4 months to restore, unlike the Z1300 a 12 month job. Forks all sorted, seat unit refurbished, carbs cleaned out and had to repair harness due to some morron cutting through it :roll:

To be honest aerialo, from the pics the 750's too good to restore :??

Photos can be deceiving. This bike has been negleted for the past 15 years due to prev owner with bodge after bodge and make do

So Iv rescued the old girl to give her a make over without going ott so still able to use and not store away and bring out at show time.[im

The bike above I restored in the old days when going through my two stroke phase

Hi.
Surprised that you noticed the boxer cup (hawk eye) one of the best bikes Iv owned. Toured all around Scotland and Europe down to Naples. Could not fault. Had many BMW,S over the years from boxer, 1200 lt to the K1200R. Shall post a picture when back home as work away.
