Z1 FLOAT HEIGHT

#1 PostAuthor: irhobotolo » Sun Sep 07, 2014 11:08 am

The 73 Z1 has much bigger drain plugs on the bottom of the carbs than other zeds and I am finding it difficult to set the fuel level in the carbs on mine. I made a device some years ago with clear industrial air pipe and a fitting screwed into the drain off hole for my Z650 but on the Z1 I cant find anything to fit in the drain plug hole ! ( no jokes please ! )
I know Kawasaki made a service tool years ago for this but cant find one for sale anywhere in the world on Ebay.
So my question is ....... :D

Does anyone have a spare drain plug ( I think its 16mm thread from memory ? ) that I can use to drill and tap and make a device or even better have a ready made tool that I can borrow or buy ?
Will pay postage both ways or collect if its local.

Thanks , thats exactly the type of thing that I need but it states that its only suitable for 29mm smoothbore carbs and wont work on the standard 28mm carbs. I think maybe the size is different but cant be sure ?
I have looked elsewhere on this site and cant find one for the standard Z1 carbs.
