Z1 ign switch 4 wire - is this copy a good replacement?

#1 PostAuthor: malmojoe » Sat Sep 06, 2014 9:19 pm

I was looking at replacement ignition switches for a Z1 but they all seem to have 6 wire connector blocks, the Z1 has a 4 wire connector block.
Then I found this one which has 4 wires, brown, white, blue and red - same as the Z1. Supposed to be for a 750 B1/B2 but I saw a similar one listed as for a Z650 C1.
I have found some wiring diagrams and the only ones with four wires are the Z750 B2 and the Z650 B1. The diagrams show the same connection grid as the European Z1, with the parking light. Has anyone used one of these or knows something I haven't been able to work out from the diagrams?
thanks

Thanks Z. I couldn't remember that web address. They've got some useful parts, especially for the euro bikes. Any idea where I can get a headlight fuse and holder?

you can bypass the resister by connecting the blue wires together & it improves the brightness a little
