carbs

hi still having trouble as to dismantle carbs on 900 a4, as I want to check the needle position. how do you remove the shaft running inside the carbs, so I can remove the slides. thanks

Roy there are five 8mm headed M5 bolts holding the shaft .
Four are under each carb top holding the linkage to the shaft , the fifth holds the cable quadrant to the shaft , undo all five .
On the carb backplate between carbs 1 and 2 there is a Phillips screw holding a retainer in a rebated groove on the shaft , undo this screw .
With all six of these bolts removed the shaft will slide out giving you access to all the slides .
