Re lacing spoked wheels

#1 PostAuthor: 531johns » Wed Aug 13, 2014 9:59 am

Hi Guys

Can anyone reccomend someone to relace the wheels on my Z1A. ideally i would want the rims rechromed and new stainless spokes.
I am in Stroud so if anyone knows of a good company in Glos/Bristol are so i can drop them off rather than UPS them halfway across the country.

In the Classic Bike magazines there are ads from a chap who will arrange collection, do your wheels and send back. Probably cheaper to drive to Coleshill, just over an hour from Glos. They will do your wheels while you go to the pub...
If at first you don't succeed, try and try again. Then quit. There's no point in being a damn fool about it.

strip the old spokes off get your rims re chromed [ask for thinner chrome on the writing, buy spokes from z power then find a wheel builder.all in all should cost 450,providing you get the hubs blasted.

I have used an old guy in Cupar, Fife.

Unfortunately he has retired.

I'm told his son has taken over.

If you need details I'll post them.
