Will shortly be after a full engine gasket set for my 1000R2, what is considered the best make , are genuine still out there, or similarly are there any pattern makes to avoid.

Cheers, plenty available on the bay, different makes and prices , mainly Athena which are also supplied by Wemoto, M&P just list theirs as 'economy'.
