z900 fuel tap

#1 PostAuthor: pablo » Mon Nov 26, 2007 5:04 pm

My fuel tap leaks NOW THERE'S A BLOODY SURPRISE.

What's the best solution? Renovate the old one? Get a better one? Any recommendations for a better tap that goes straight on, and where I can get it?

Cheers, Pablo.

had the same problem.

Bought a repair kit, repaired - still leaked.

bought a pingel tap - fitted - no leaks. Not cheap though and upsets the purists - like I care............... :D

Any purist would have a coronary looking at my bike anyway.

Where did you get the Pingel?

Yes, Pingel is the way to go, they look good too, well as good as it is possible for a fuel tap to look. and buy some of their fantastic fuel line too.

While I'm about it - Does anyone fit quick release fuel line couplings? Pulling the bloody lines on and off the tap every time I take the tank off is a pain in the 'arris.

If so, which ones? And where? (Probably Debbens again, God bless 'em) P.

Does the Pingel tap have a reserve on it?

Mine is a twin outlet Pingel with reserve. BUT, I did run low once and switched to reserve and only got another 2/3 miles
Haven't removed the tap, but the feedn pipe inside maybe a bit short on the main flow side, therefore not leaving much in reserve :?:

Here's one. It's either Doremi or PMC. Not sure.

Might be the same as this one from Z-Power. 35 quid.

Seems 35 quid is the z-power price, for whatever it is. It's not the Pingel - but is it good? P.

I have the same on my H2 (3 outlet though), and I'm very pleased with it. The reserve is smaller than stock, but no prob as long as you're aware of it.
