Shock Absorber + Fork Spring Upgrade

I want to upgrade the rear shocks & front fork springs on my Z1000 Mark 2
The Fork Springs are the 35 year old originals.
The Rear Shocks are cheapo TEC brand (totally crap & bounce like a pogo stick!) which I put on 2-3 years ago just to get the bike on the Road.

I'm not looking at the real expensive stuff like Ohlins etc. but something more along the lines of Hagon, Ikon, YSS etc.

I would welcome any recommendations based upon other club members experiences of what has worked well for them on other Z1's / 1000's ?

Just bought a set of hagons for the rear major improvement
I had em made 340mm eye to eye ( not 350) lowered it a little and still got full clearance
A couple of years ago changed oil in forks and new progressive springs fitted along with winding up the steering damper and a fork brace ( fitted when I bought it) the front end is compliant and a major improvement

Agreed. I put some on mine a few weeks ago, a big improvement over the cheapo ones that were on it.

Yes been used , but the springs can be re coated

Correct - a 14 point frame and gusset set is needed to brace earlier Z frames. Then, if on a budget go Koni Dial-a-rides/Ikons on the rear with Hagon progressive springs and 15weight oil in the front; finish with some decent rubber eg BT045s = a good ride for the money.
