Carb rebuild
I've got a problem with my now complete z1000j in that it won't rev above about 3000rpm. So far I've checked compression, ignition, plugs etc. and all seems to be OK. The only thing I can think of is that that carb diaphrams may be dodgy. Any ideas? if carbs need a rebuild any advice as to where to get bits or anyone who services them. PS its got a gpz1100b2 motor with 34mm mikunis.

Hi Warwick,if your diaphragms are the fault then you'll have to get some pattern ones as they are no longer available from Kawasaki and genuine ones are very, very expensive
There's a company called NRP,based in the Manchester area I think who manufacture pattern ones.
I've had all of my many sets of 1000J/LAWSON 34mm CV carbs checked over and ultra-sonically cleaned,if required,by my local bike shop in Loughborough called Twiggers.
The top man there is Mark and he knows the old Zedz really well.
TEL:01509 263967.
They do a full postal service.
First thing to do is get the carbs checked over by someone who knows what they're doing before you start spending money
