Well as you all know I bought a front Dymag from eBay, the seller was in Ireland and I had the wheel sent to Neil. Neil took some pictures and they did not look good, also got some advice from a couple of members on here who have been kind enough to contact me previously.
I ended up sending the wheel to Steve a TPCS and the initial inspection sounded ok'ish, I have just rang them and they have said that it has no cracks and it in good condition, they are now going to fully refurbish the wheel which will go through a number of there processes.
I have also sent an email to Steve Harris who is my new contact since Oliver left, first email to him so explained a few things and then asked if they could send the rear wheel to Steve as I might as well get this checked and refurbished as well!

Just waiting for a reply :D

Just an update since we are fast approaching the six month point, gone quick hasn't it!

Had a reply from Steve Harris two weeks ago saying that he would take the rear wheel off and send it to Steve at TPCS, spoke to Steve and the wheel hasn't turned up yet. So I'll have to ring Harris tonight when I get in.

The front wheel has turned out very nice indeed, just needs a tyre and bearings fitted.

Must admit its bloody hard to organise from the other side of the World!

Its very frustrating, what can you do when you don't get a return email or don't get to speak to them when you ring.

There's only a certain window of time open before its bed time for me!

Well just got off the phone with Steve Harris, what a great bloke!
The frames been stripped, he has actually said that the alterations to the rear sub frame have been done very well and he is going to incorporate it in the new magnum fames, he said that he thinks it give the frame a more modern look, how about that! He has said that a smaller sub frame with a smaller tail unit would suit the frame more, so he's going to price that us for me but from what was said it will not be that expensive.
So the frame will be on the jig next week for checking, all the original brackets will be refitted, then the frame will be powder coated. The WP rear shock will be stripped checked and new seals fitted, the rear wheel has been sent to the other Steve for refurbishing, once they come back they will be fitted with new bearings and tyres. They actually have a dummy Z1000 engine so this will be fitted to the frame, he has asked if I want exhaust making, he said they would be similar to the 80's type (forgot the name he used) but fit closer to the frame. They'll fit the fairings, box it up and send it down here!
Bloody happy with this, what a difference a day makes, can't wait for the pictures! :D

All sounds very exciting Vic. It'll be a load of fun when you finally get there. Weather has finally warmed up here so been taking my finished Z1000J to a few meets. Cheers Nick.

Thanks lads.

The weather down here is getting colder, it was 24degs yesterday.
Its now that time of year that we shut the windows about 5'ish to keep the heat in, shutting the windows is our only form of heating

Well the updates are coming quite fast now :D

The front wheel is at Steve Turner awaiting the rear wheel, I have sent specific instruction to Harris to send the rear wheel to them, been emailing and phoning this week and Harris have said they have sent it and Steve keeps saying he's not received it. got an email today from Harris saying that they have sent it to Dymag! So I'm a bit pissed off with this as you can imagine, the reason being is I didn't go with Dymag as they did not return my many emails and phone calls and I have found out that they send the wheels they get to Steve Turner anyway and add a mark up!

On the other side they have started on my frame, the new rear sub frame has been proposed to go like this.

Here's is what has been said!

Please look at the attached photo and the tube I'm pointing to which I feel we should leave in.
You will also find a photo of a small seat which we can make fit onto the new subframe depending if you like it or not. This is one option but we think it looks the best.

Personally I would get them to restore the frame to the original look. On the basis that when/if you come to sell it on at any point, people could perhaps assume that the frame is devalued as it has been modified.

If you are going to the trouble of getting Harris to do the work then restore it to standard. Otherwise you could have got any other fabricator in the world to do it mod it for you as you end up with an unusual looking one off frame.
Not a bad thing but does that make it worth less? It would to me.

p.s. I like those small seat units but not sure it fits in with the curved nature of the tank and swoops on the mk2 fairing. but that's just my opinion.

I know what you are saying and do agree to a point, but from what I have noticed when I have been researching is that no Harris frame is the same, every frame bike has been modified be owners and previous owners.
I actually like the look of rear seat unit much more than the original one they originally fitted, also with having pictures of the process and emails from Steve Harris if I was unfortunate enough to have to sell this information would prove the bike authentic.

You have got the documented history of "alterations by Harris" (as above) so that is good enough

My frame is as left the Harris workshop and thats how its staying.
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Quick update!
Nothing to report really, Harris have sent me a picture of a race exhaust system they are currently building, thought I'd post it up as its a great picture! Love the dummy engine, not that keen on the exhaust system, looks too long :D

The quoted cost of the system will be approximately 1100 quid and its made out of stainless, they have offered me this system for the Magnum.
