Z1 calipers

#1 PostAuthor: Z1parR » Mon May 05, 2014 5:43 pm

Does anyone know the brake hose thread size into original Z1/A/B calipers ?
I'm asking as i've just bought HEL brake lines and they have a male end at the caliper .
The hose end is M10x1.0 and my repro calipers have a M10x1.25 female !
Are the hoses ended wrong or have i to get an adaptor fitting male to female ?

No three braided hoses .
Banjo m/cyl to splitter and banjo from splitter to each caliper .
it's just the male end thread at the caliper end that has thrown me .

I bought my Hel lines off Ebay last year for Z1R.
Was the kit complete? - well no.... I needed more copper washers and a banjo bolt.

Was I happy with their response? - Definitely
It was along the lines (No pun intended) of "Tell us what you are short of and we will send it"
They seem very customer oriented and All the bits arrived quickly and are an improvement on the ageing Venhill items they replaced.

I would definitely recommend - just check you have all you need before removing your existing parts!

Thanks guys for your responses .
After having confirmed the steel pipe end size with Dogs ( thanks Mike )
I then rang the hose supplier and told them that they had fixed the wrong threaded ends on the pipe .
Told me to send them the hoses and they will re-end them to 10x1.25 and will reimburse me the postage .
They can't say any fairer than that , clearly an error has been made but they seemed very polite and professional about putting it right .
