I though it should be 13.8v to 14.5v, is that right?

MORE THAN 14.6 VOLTS & IT WILL BOIL THE BATTERY DRY & POSSIBLY SPILL ACID OUT THE OVERFLOW & DAMAGE YOUR CHROME WORK

Cheers, its a motobatt so no acid to worry about. I haven't run it for any length of time only enough to take the readings. I have emailed Zpower about it

Mark, make sure you check with battery fully charged (say 12.7 Volts).
With motor warm take her up to 4000rpm and see if doesn't go over 15.5 V.
Check your "Digital" volt meter against another.
It might only be , just on the high side at 15.25 V. I would accept 14 .75 V
Check also with lights on!

Garn.... Motobatt Battery is fully charged and I tested with two separate Fluke meters, the old rec and reg have both been removed from the bike, I tried another mini loom with the 4 sockets on and it was the same voltage peaking at 15.25v....I cant remember if I had the lights on or not but will test it in the morning.
I'm a bit worried it could destroy the Dyna S if I run it for any length of time.
I emailed Dave at ZPower who is checking it with his electrical expert, he says he has never had one fail before, this one is working as it is 13.5 at tickover but raises too high.

What else could it be other than the reg/rec?

run a separate wire from the battery positive to the brown wire on the regulator & see if this reduces the voltage

Is that the "switched" live sensor wire :?:

I got hold of a NOS Newtronics Reg/Rec for me Harris - as I wired the bike meself I was a bit apprehensive, especially as I also fitted a lithium battery - but so far all seems good. I got 13.5 V at about 3000/3500 rpm. Really need to do some longer trips (>5 miles) to make sure :|
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Think I have cracked it, after z1bman suggested running another wire direct from the battery which improved it, I decided it must be volt dropping across all the joints and therefore the reg/rec not seeing what was directly across the battery, voltage was also low at the coils too, so spent the morning doing the Wired George thing which seems to have improved things, and ran an extra earth in to the black/yellow that was left unused... i'll post some readings after charging the battery
