When I bought this beauty she was smoking a bit so decided to have a look see. Found a broken ring with damage to the bore and 2 exhaust valve guides loose in the head. So, rebore, new pistons and rings and second hand head, new guides and many hours later she's back together and so far seems to be running very sweetly.
Quick question which I can't find an answer to. What would you expect the rev counter to show at 60mph? I have checked the sprockets and they are standard but I get just under 4000rpm. Seems a bit high to me compared with the GSx1100 I have.

That sounds about right.

They can feel a bit under geared but makes for happy times when you nail the throttle.

Thanks for the replies. That's pretty much what I'm seeing and you're right tlc, it feels a bit under geared. But with it rebored 2.5mm oversize the pull is massive with just a twitch of the wrist. What she'll be like when fully run in
Next time I come to replace the sprockets I'll look at going a bit smaller on the rear. Might not scare myself so much.
