New garage mate for my Zed

#1 PostAuthor: Tonto » Fri Mar 07, 2014 5:54 pm

I acquired this the other day: I know the Z13 can be visually challenging, I think the design brief back in 1978 must have been "what do you get if you cross a Rhino and a Wardrobe" - but I like her. She seems pretty genuine but for one or two oddities, and I've loads of history (last owner was a 70yr old guy who had her 18yrs). According to engine and frame nos. she is one of the first 400 made: no doubt before they ironed out all the gremlins. :D

Will be a few weeks tarting her up before letting her out in public.

Z1Bman - thanks, yes Ive got the required cam chain tensioner assy (12048-1113): soon to be fitted - the previous owner never fitted it as he was only doing about 50 - 100 miles a year.

Nigel: they are all mates of this handsome beast :D still by far, my "prettiest" bike

I best not mention the other project bikes I bought recently    - I think I might get blacklisted.

Lovely Z13.

I love them.

A brute indeed.

We will be naming the club the Z10C/Z1ROC/Z130C VERY soon.

I think you will have inspired more to buy Z13's!!

Nearly finished tarting up my Z13

#13 PostAuthor: Tonto » Mon Apr 14, 2014 4:04 pm

Well, its been a bit of a challenge with the old girl: starter clutch and carbs have been driving me mad for the past few weeks; but nearly finished now.

Probably get a set of Hagon classic shocks for the rear (originals look in good condition but are dreadful) and then hopefully get to use her (and of course my Z900) thru the summer.
