#1 PostAuthor: kennytcr » Sun Apr 13, 2014 8:33 pm

Drained the oil for the first time today on my z1000 a1 and this came out on the plug?
Only thing I could think of was upper chain tensioner, took cam cover of and all is ok.
Anywhere else it could of come from?

Yes! it's off the upper camchain idler.
Luckily no harm done so un bolt the idler and stick it back where it belongs.

It hasn't come adrift while running, that's impossible as it sits under or over the top idler damper rubbers and is bolted down.
There are four of them ,2 above and 2 below.
Someone has dropped it down the camchain tunnel when removing or fitting the top idler when doing the cams etc.
