Alternatives to K&N's

#1 PostAuthor: Magnum1 » Thu Mar 27, 2014 8:37 pm

My K&N's foul the cross member on the Harris and I've been thinking about changing to Ram Air foam filters. Can anyone offer any advice/knowledge on the subject - are they any good?

Cheers,
Rod

I just fitted a set of offset ramair foam filters on my bike. Its a fair bit quieter on induction noise and seems quite responsive. I will hopefully ride it at the weekend so will let you know. I have left the set up as per the k&n, s and dont really expect any glitches.
The foam is fairly thick and at least 2 layers, fitment was good at the neck with decent clips supplied,. You can order in sets of 4 and some sets are priced reduced at the moment.
Got them direct from www.ramair-filters.co.uk
01980 635300 ....paid just under £60. :)

Magnum,

I had the EXACT same problem.

I cut out the cross member.

The bike runs really nice with the new filters.

I used these Ramair twins on my ZRX, quite cheap off ebay.

They are only socks, so you will need some trumpet type things for them to pull over.

Had to get a new hacksaw blade, but got through eventually. Thanks for the tip!
