Cylinder liners

The engine I bought for the MkII/H project has rusty cylinders from being in a damp shed for years, would like to keep it as original as possible.
Have some oversized pistons in stock, but this motor has never run so really want to use the ones in there with some new rings.

The question is it viable to have the cylinder sleeves replaced, are they available and can I do it myself?

Are the cylinders so rusty they wont bore to the oversize pistons?

Yes they would, but I really want to use the original and unused pistons to make the motor new again.

Yes! you can get LA SLEEVE CO liners from Wiseco (any wiseco supplier can get them for you, Vic Eastwood, Gremlin race tech , Debbens , Pitstop etc etc ) that will drop straight in the kawa block and then you get them bored to std 70mm.
Easy to do at home with the help of the oven or grill and a pair of oven gloves.

couldn't you just buy a tidy second hand cylinder and swap the liners - or are they different in the MkII?

All Z1000 liners are the same and will drop in but any used liner will leave the piston/bore clearance on the wide side after honing.

Dealt with these guys before with metal spraying a KTM crank, top job, saved scrapping it.
