2 wire lucas rear light

#1 PostAuthor: Redbeard » Sun Mar 16, 2014 9:26 pm

The lucas style rear light I have only has 2 wires standard, neither are earth and it won't work. Should it get an earth when mounted to the bike? The 2 wires I have from the loom are tail and brake and light a test light. Diagram says I should have the black/yellow earth wire but it isn't there as the light was fitted when I got it. Any ideas? Bulb/fuses are A1.

Body should be earthed so run an earth wire to one of the mounting bolts/nuts to get a good connection.

Solder a wire to the bulb holder.

On the other end of the wire solder on a terminal to fit on to the lamp mounting bolt.
This way everything is inside the lamp holder assembly.
Jimmock. :wnkr
