Valuation for insurance purposes non standard bikes/specials

#1 PostAuthor: martinz1000r » Fri Feb 21, 2014 4:39 pm

Guys,

My insurance is due soon. The Moto Martin is currently covered as part of a multi-bike policy with Peter James and has been valued at what I paid for it as a non-runner in 2009.

With the project and transformation to what I personally think is one of the most eye catching classic endurance race replicas around I am sure it is worth a little more than £2500. I know Peter James do an agreed valuation as they insured my Slabbie but wanted proof or value based on other bikes for sale. Fairly easy on a bog-standard slabbie and no hassle from Peter James who accepted without quibble based on copies of other adverts I found but how do I get and prove the value of something as unique as the Moto Martin?

Really. The guy in Blade in Swindon the other day had never heard of a Moto Martin let alone put a value on it.

I would put together a spec sheet and some good pictures and send it to Carol Nash`s , with what you think it is worth ? that is what i done a few years ago with a non standard Z1000 ,and they accepted my price !

Also copies of any bills you have , motor work ,frame work ect ect .

Phone them 1st and get a name to send it to ! but they do have someone that deals with specials , one off`s .. Andy
