IN the past I have found that inserting the key often releases the barrel, but this one isn't keen to move

Removing key barrel from petrol cap
I have order a new cap for the Unitrak, but I notice that the new one doesn't come with a lock barrel. I want to move the one from the old one tinto the new one, but there are no clues in the manual (Genuine Workshop of course
)

remove the catch from the underside of the cap 4 screws i think? then there is a small metal cover with an offset cam that you can remove with some pliers it just pulls out then you will see the bottom of the lock/ barrel. there is a spring loaded pawl at the bottom that you need to push to release the lock. also make sure you fit the key to aid removal
