suggestions for Z1000 front braking??????

#1 PostAuthor: Reecy » Sun Jan 26, 2014 11:08 pm

Hey guys

It's time for me to make some effort and swap my front brake calipers on my A2 to get something that will be more effective-i plan on keeping the A2 maaster cylinder

Don't want any mad brackets but would be glad to hear of any conversions that you guys have carried out in the past-post piccies if you can

Thanks in advance

Reecy

What'll fit depends on what wheels and forks you have. Then it's how much you want to spend.... With standard wheels and forks there's not much space between disc and wheel.

What sort of money are those Pretech 6 pots anyone know ? There are no prices on the website.
Why do I persist in debating with idiots ? I really should know better :)

I believe they were about 250 per caliper about 12 months ago.

I swapped the master cylinder on my z1a for a early locheed one and it improved it a lot and that's using the standard calipers ,lot easier than swapping brake calipers ,early brembo calipers are good and I think a straight swap and not badly priced sh

Why not invest in a rebuild kit & upgrade to a decent set of brake lines
like Venhill.

At my last MOT, My front brake was registering 95% efficiency.

More than enough for my old girl.

Reecy, an inexpensive upgrade that does help, is to replace the two lower hoses with goodrich braided lines. To keep it looking standard (concourse), they do make these lines with a black cover. You will be surprised!
