wiring loom boards

#1 PostAuthor: mick znone » Sat Jan 11, 2014 8:27 am

has nobody in the know ever thought of making up a wiring harness board and manufacturing quality harnesses, could the club not stump up for the board.
i have the idea from another club where i am buying a new harness for a bike, they were no longer in production for my machine.

Mick

I think the problem is its boards not board.

Z1 - Z1B
Z900
Z1000 a1-a2
Z1000 a3-a4
Z1R D1
Z1R D2/3
Z1000H

etc etc

then if you add in the cost of components and time I can only see it being worth doing for anything than is not readily available such as Z1, Z900, Z1000

hmm yes agreed, i thought the early looms were not available, have they become available again now then? but if there was someone in the know, could there not be a fairly pleasant home based earner in it? especially as some of us are approaching retirement age and could do with a way to keep the central heating on come November :??

I spoke with Achim from Berlin whilst at Edersee.

He is manufacturing new looms using German components. I think thy were 200 Euros.

Z1-Z1b repro harnesses cost £60 from z1parts good quality, Achim makes many parts but is not keen to sell them, most are for his own use.

Your right, £67 for the main loom from zpower with discount, and a 4 piece loom from z1 parts £74.00 inc coloured junction blocks if you use the code "GET15"

I bought the z-power one last year but it doesn't have the coloured plugs. I also bought the ones like Z1-parts are selling although I bought it from this seller in France. It was €125 but is now €159.
I had looked at building from sxcratch but the plug blocks are expensive and it was cheaper - and probably a better result to buy these. I think they are PMC.

i didnt realize they were making them for the early zeds, they wernt a few years ago and i was having trouble with brittle wires snapping inside the plastic. they dont make looms for my current bike and im bidding on one made by a chap who has made a loom board. thats where i got the idea for you guys, but ho hum, could still be a way for someone in the know to make a few quid from home, always a nice way to earn.

Just wish someone was doing the wiring for the handlebar switches. Especially the EU ones, Ive got a load of sets I've sprayed up but all of them have fucked wiring. The semicircular dip switch contact board warps and breaks very easily.

Guyz,

I've got a chess board, draughts board, darts board, monopoly board, scrabble board, snakes and ladders board, ludo board, cheese board, bread board, chopping board, side board.

I've also got chip board, caber board, sterling board, card board, ply board, hard board, wall board, floor board, plaster board, nail board, tile board, roof board.

I have an ironing board, scrubbing board, tool board, message board, notice board, black board, white board, wet board, dry board, magnetic board, splash board, head board, foot board, surf board, water board, skate board, snow board, air board, smart board.

I can get you a marker board, light board, hazard board, outboard, inboard.

I've also got a spinning loom.

Does that help.

I felt like one of the "Two Ronnies" reading that lot back!!! :rir
