What is the best crankcase liquid gasket?

Looking for a recommended black crankcase sealant, as good or better than Kawabond.
I am considering the cheaper threebond 1207B, made by same company as Kawabond, has anybody used this? crofty

Need to phone Z Power today, so will ask. I think the Wurth stuff comes in red, but should peel off by rubbing if silicone based.

I know it's an old thread, but I just used it to find an answer so I thought I'd add a bit too.

After a lot of googling, Threebond 1200 series seems to be OEM for most of the motorcycle industry. TB1207 looks to be the one to use and comes in several colours, signified by the suffix, B-black, C-red; D-silver grey.
It costs about £23

You can get TB1215, which is black. It corrodes copper alloys though, but would be fine for an engine case. Only £10.70 for a 250ml tube from

Been using this for a while now .
Very good on the crankcase joint and sets firm when filling the camchain tunnel 'O' ring groove if using a one piece head gasket.
Comes in clear, black, grey, red, copper etc.

What about the Blue Hylomar aircraft grade, Mark Tiller
suggested above?

Used to use Hylomar years ago but prefer the RTV now.
It's a better all round product for sealing cases, cam end plugs and cam chain tunnel etc.
The Hylomar is non setting so no good for the cam tunnel and the cam end plugs tend to shift and need reseating if the camcover is removed whereas the RTV stays put.
Both have the same temp rating.

I found threebond works well. Its doesn't go off. Easy to apply and remove when dry. Only need a small amount to make a good seal

Got my Threebond TB1215 from raceparts today. I only ordered it yesterday afternoon. It's a big tube (250ml) for £10.70 and even better, when I opened it it's silver grey.

This is awesome stuff too.
Many Kawasaki shops around my area used to use this all the time. They reckoned it's the exact same stuff as Kawabond!
