Carbs

#1 PostAuthor: Wayne1960 » Wed Jan 01, 2014 9:32 am

Can anyone help with good topic and pics for reassembling my Mikuni carbs. They are the 26mm type for KZ900 A4.

Also can anyone tell me if I can replace the the brass needle that sticks out of the base of the main body. It has snapped in half!
Just purchased a 1976 UK Z900 A4 for renovation. Wish me luck.
Bike now finished what a joy!

Wayne , the brass choke tube will twist out easily from the main body if you grip it with pliers .
PM me your address and i'll send you a whole one tomorrow .
I may have some pics of a complete set of 26s , i've certainly got pics of 28s .
They aren't that different visually , mainly the tickover adjustment really :D

Apologies Wayne about the choke tube .
I've just taken this last one out of a carb and it's split right at the bottom by the jet .
I don't think anything can be done with it , unless somebody knows any different .
Can still supply carb pics .

Thanks for trying at least I know it can be changed, I have just pulled out the old one, well what was left of it! Yes it came out easy so thanks.
I have also noticed the brass tube bit on the bottom cover has snapped off on one. I managed to pull out the bit on the other side which will know need replacing and I guess the bit lft in the body where the tube part has broken off will need drilling out.
Where can I get replacement parts?

I've bought jets from here before;

I'm sure there will be varied opinions and more suggestions of part sources.
