PMC Seats for Z1000A2

#1 PostAuthor: scott » Thu Oct 11, 2007 2:53 pm

Hi Guys,
I am looking for a seat for my Z1000A2. I have seen one on a web for a Japanese company called PMC. The website address is?. http://www.win-pmc.com/. On this site is a seat with a code number of 81-1065. It is in the 70?s Custom series 2 section. Does anyone out there own one of these seats or does anyone know if there are any images of bikes with one fitted? I would like to see how it looks on a zed before I buy one.

Hi Pigford,
all PMC parts are available from zpower....they will also supply the catalogue, for free, which has a hell of a lot more stuff of interest. If they don't have one available, let me know and i'll send you mine. I have a few parts on my bike from them and the quality is good and cost is reasonable. The seem to specialise in the parts that are'nt available any more. Zpower normally give 15% discount as well...PMC have actually told me that dave marsden at zpower is the uk contact...so unsure if they will do business direct?!?! The catalogue show a picture of a z1 with the seat on, but is taken from an angle and does not show it side on. PMC sent images to me of the seat, but not with it on a bike

There is also a nice exhaust on there site, code number...86-165

I should have joined Z1OC years ago!!!!!

Used to blast down there on me A4 back in the early 80's.
Titchfield carnival night was a favourite, as all the Rozzers were busy down there, and me & me mates had a free reign on the roads, undisturbed!
Ain't Plessey now BA?
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Plessey is now Eaton Aerospace...still the same old place though...some things don't change. There's a couple of guys here at work with z900's, both american imports...good condition.

Z1000a2 seat

#8 PostAuthor: steve rees » Fri Oct 12, 2007 5:12 pm

Scott

i recently bought the pmc 81-1065 seat from Z power to my z1000A2 i reckon its pretty good

i will probably get another the same for my Z1000 project nearing completion

i have seen the81-1050 seat in the flesh and it is very well made-- appearance is first class and could be recommended

my seat needed a minor modification for the seat catch to work but the guys at zpower gave me a template which worked

Hi Steve,
glad to know i have'nt got bad taste....i was begining to wonder why i had not seen one on another zed. Would there be any chance of a digital image of the seat on the bike...i can make a final decision if i really like it. I have a few piccies of the seat on it's own and looks good...but images of it fitted always tell the whole story.

Cheers
