Unfortunetly I haven't started the strip down yet, the only reason I am going to do it is the painted engine looks so bad,

It is nice to know that the engine is in fairly good condition Before I start

Every check I have carried out on the motor say to me, every thing Is fine don't f@@k with it.

However the engine has a coat of black paint that has been applied with a yard brush.

Is ther any thing on the market that will removed heat resistant paint the doesnot involve stripping the engine.

Nitro mors didn't touch the engine paint

This stuff should do it Gavin.

It's still got the DICHLOROMETHANE in it, that's been taken out of Nitromors, rendering it as much use as cat piss.

I've been reliably informed that this stuff works and the guy is legit....... ask no questions how it's still on sale

Well I have finally stripped 95% of the paint off the engine, although the
Alloy is dark grey and has suffered over the last few years, as I am not taking the motor apart I have decided to give it a coat of paint.

The question now is,
Black or Silver which colour should I coat it.

Soda blasting will not fetch stains or marks off ally, I know, I did mine.

Soda blast it all first then use Rub n Buff, a couple of threads on Rub n Buff if you search and it will achieve a nice shiny silver finish and not bright and in your face like silver paint.
