mechanical speedo
Hi All, thought I would ask here first as I know there's a lot of wisdom being passed through here down the years. OK I own a zephyr 1100 and finally managed to get a set of wire wheels for it, trouble is their for a zeph 750 and the calipers hit the spokes, so I put spacers behind the discs and it's sorted. Only problem now is I cannot fit the speedo drive. Can I buy a pickup and is there a speedo I could maybe convert to fit in my original housing ? I know I can buy a digital thing to fit in there but I would rather it to look like a normal mechanical one, is there anything available anywhere ? thanks to all replies, $ PS, for instance could I fit the guts from a car speedo into my housing ? I know they're not mechanically driven but look like they are with an ordinary face and needle.

I am considering replacing my Speedo with one of these, (but you will have to buy a Speed sensor as well).

and Tacho with one of these, (making sure its the 10.5 K rpm )

However I think I should be able to mount the, within original clock covers, but will not be absolutely certain until they are in my hands.

Hi Adrian, I've taken a chance and bought one but there's no instructions with it but hopefully I'll be able to download some. also I hope to be able to remove the dial face and replace it with my original but like yourself I don't know until I have it here. Let me know how you get on and I'll do the same, cheers $tevie.ADRIAN H wrote:I am considering replacing my Speedo with one of these, (but you will have to buy a Speed sensor as well).

It's an A1 and I've gone through all this on the Zephyr Zone. The B1 and D1 forks are rarer than rocking horse shit. I've tried all other options and this is the only option left to me AFAIK.z1bman wrote:what forks do you have? as the zr1100 b1 uses spoked wheels as standard fittment + has mechanical speedo
