MK11

#1 PostAuthor: harrythemagnum » Sat Oct 26, 2013 4:02 pm

Finally got round to getting my MKII from my mate J, I bought it off him six months ago and he was good enough to hold onto it until now.

A quick wipe with an oily rag should sort it!

The bike is a Z1000H, but the motor is Z1A, but if I cant find a replacement one from a MKII or ST, I will use the A2 engine that was destined for the Harris and rebuild the Z1 lump later.

Good luck with the build Harry, love the shape of the MkII so will be following the build.
Are you going down the std route or subtle mods

It already has some oldskool stuff on it, so I'm keeping the theme.
Taking stock of what I need, will be plenty of posts in wanted.

Bought this, taking a bit of a gamble, but if ok will be ideal for my project.
I'm cynical about the "new" claim, but it is an H engine, the guy sounds genuine enough on the phone.

Picked up the engine bought off ebay.
Still finding it strange and sceptical to find apparently is an unused, never run motor, the geezer reckons he bought in a crate, from a dealer back in the day and was going to put it in a hard tail chopper frame but never got round to it.

Deffo an H engine, and am glad it's going to end up where it was intended, but I don't hold much hope of being able to source an injection system for it.

Will be posting in wanted for parts needed, but any other help in getting stuff for it appreciated.

Harry, ref the Fuel Injection System, the H used the same components (L-Jetronic) that were installed into quite a few cars back in the day (e.g. Nissan 280Z, Porsche 912E) so you may have more luck than you think sourcing a complete system. At one point i was looking at sourcing a replacement ECU and was surprised to find a number on ebay.

Good luck with the build by the way!

Shaun.
