Extract from the VOSA MOT booklet, (http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/htdocs/m1s06000201.htm)
Information Method of Inspection
Pillion foot rests are not required on motor bicycles that only have a single seat. In addition some motor bicycles used on or after 14 June 1993, which are intended to carry a passenger may not be fitted with footrests but with hand holds attached to the motor bicycles frame adjacent to, or part of the seat. Refer to manufacturers information eg owners handbook.
Reason for Rejection.
(ii) a missing or insecure footrest

I have KipKawa 1000S replicas on my ELR. Needed a bit of modding as design to operate on a frame with no side stand and they foul on the mounting bracket. Look good though.
Not sure what i will do for MOT as simply nowhere to fix pillion pegs anymore

Al, can you post a link to such a thing on eBay or similar?

It was Fatty Z1R had them as rear rear sets on his drag bike. Think he said they came from some place near Guildford!!! It occurs to me that my standard J rears will do just the same as they have a bracket with a single hole in.
When it stops persisting down i will go have a look in the shed.
