Thanks Z1bman, I wanted to check out what Chrisu has to say about that facet of the static adjustment.
To my mind, by adjusting with the rotor falsely moved to the advanced position, I can't understand why it wouldn't effect the timing at idle.
I always check dynamically with a timing light and have always disliked that static method.
