I have just got a s/hand tank in original red , but the front under side of the tank is very rusty ! both sides , is there anything i could use to seal it from the outside to stop it getting worse and to prevent any leaks ? it only has to be a temp fix until i can get it repaired properly and re-painted in the winter months ?
I was thinking something like a petrol re-sistant filler/mastic type stuff ??

I have just rubbed all the loose off and then wire brushed the area , and on close inspection it looks like it has almost gone through , so it will need some type of filler ?

the best way is to get it lead loaded but this process would ruin the paint work + there are not many of these type of craftsmen left. you would need to find someone who does classic car restoration but this done properly would be better than any type of filler

give this company a call they might be able to help
