Large biscuit tins make ideal test pieces
Practice your skills on that first.. you'll know what the colours end up like as well..

Hi there Weeble.

I cant comment much re Huch as I've only dealt with Simon on the forum for paintwork. I'd just like to say definitely consider Flying Tiger (Simon) as well. I'm sure both are equally good craftsmen but as such I can only offer my own personal experience as I've had with Simon. As outlined in the thread below I found Simon to be the most polite, professional, skillful, helpful, communicative and trustworthy person I've ever had dealings with - end of. If you can wait, then I'd wait. Simons paintwork is flawless.

My tank was an utter train wreck after some massively botched 'repairs' by another company, and you can see from the thread below the skill and dedication Simon applied to make it better then new, with knobs on!!

Simon never charged me a penny more, even though he was expecting a tank ready to apply his final touches too. (I think the bodgers actually said this too him!!)

Just have a look at the before and after photos and then make your own mind up, as said the photos don't do the final paintwork any justification. On the bike and in the sun it's simply a stunning piece of work by any standard.

Sorry, but I doubt many people no matter how many biscuit tins they used could produce a final result like this :)

John

Simon painted my sanctuary replica and the paint is the best I have ever seen. My next project is a 750 turbo and I wouldn't dream of giving the job to anyone else.

add my vote to Simon. He's painted both my GPz and my Moto Martin. The price he charged me and the quality are superb. Both are quite complex designs and multiple colours plus airbrushing.

I've tried painting my own in the past and the outlay in terms of paint, lacquer etc not to mention hours of prep make it a no brainer to send it off.

3 months is nothing. Book it now, Use bike as it is for the summer and have Si paint it in the winter.

Lets not cause a rift between our sprayers , they are both exceptional and take pride in their work I believe Hutch does more standard Zed paintwork were as Si more custom work , again not saying both could do either :??
