Z1000 ST CARB SETTINGS

I'm after the main jet size,float height,etc,etc for a 1981 Z1000ST.

JACK,
No 'ST' data in me Clymer manual, but:
main jet for 1981-2 KZ1000-J (BS34 carb) 127.5
Float height for same 18.6mm.
Don't know if thats any help :?:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Thanks for that "Kajagoogoo Pigford" but the ST has 28mm slide carbs as per the MK.2 models.

Vm28ss carbs
110 mains
15 pilot
float height 26mm

Does your workshop manual have the front fork oil capacity for the ST models??

oil level 480mm
sae 10w

on 1978 and later forks must be fully extended and no springs in them when measuring oil level.


so say my manual anyway.....................

Yes thank you Chrisu,
are these the same carbs as the mk11 then and do you measure from the gasket face to the top of the actual float, mine all measure 24?

yup.

main jets are a different size but the rest is the same.

measurement is from top of float to surface face of the carb body.

I made up a tool similar to the special kawasaki one where you measure using a clear tube against the carb body. It screws into the bottom the bowl where the drain plug is.
