First ride today, bugger me if it didn't start pissing down. Brand new tyres, greasy road, afternoon rush hour, unfamiliar bike, a sure recipe for a few little arse clenches, but I have to say I absolutely love this bike.

The nice thing about bigger capacity bikes is the power available at low revs means you don't have to ride like a c**t, unless of course you want to :D

Still find the canted-forward riding position a bit odd but otherwise she's a peach.

Had a good day, not only cut the grass but fitted my new Akro's, finished off the tail tidy, lovely!

Also dragged the 'old Zed' out from it's winter resting hole. Feel a bit bad as I've ignored her so I'll probably spend a bit of time finishing off some little bits and get her mot'd.

Nearly 40 years between them :)

2 crackin' bikes you've got there Coldsummer :!:

The tail tidy is a huge improvement on your 'latest' bike :up

I do love the Zed - the paintwork is mint :drool - had to smile looking at the pic with the 'yellow mower' in the reflection. Nice one.

Thanks sanderz, the paintwork was meant to be more turquisey but it still looks nice.

The yellow mower is in disgrace at the moment as it snapped a drive belt half way through the job but at least it meant I had an excuse to do the bike

I have the 2010 model and have shorter legs, so the first thing I did was have it professionally lowered at Kais of Atherton Manchester. they were superb and did a great job measuring me on the bike. they stripped the front and rear suspension units. Cost about £400 but the bike is cock on for me now. lowering kits are ok if you aren't thinking of keeping the bike long term, but I was certainly glad I let these men do their work as suspension is such an important part of the bike.

Oh, the bike is superb as well, with a right grin factor. Can't see me letting go of the Z1b tho'
