here goes, ive owned my z900 since 91, its fitted with a 75 z1b engine/carbs/airbox. over the years ive always had a problem with (after a run) white emulsion stuck all over the inside of the oil level sight glass, anyone who has read my previous posts will know that i have just re-built the engine at a cost of nearly a grand! anyhoo during the re-build i noticed that the pipe from the oil breather housing on top of the gearbox just went down behind the back of the engine and through the bottom of the frame,(i thought this was the norm) whilst trawling through the wonder of dave marsdens web site i noticed the breather should actually go up and connect to the bottom of the airbox! soon found out that the little 's' shaped pipe was only available if you buy the whole airbox(suprise suprise) so i fasioned my own thinking that to have the oil vapour sucked out and re-circulated rather than simply left to waft out of its own accord would cure the problem, well no it hasnt got the bike mot-ed last sat did 40 mile round trip get home sight glass all milky white!!!!!!!!!!!!! anybody had the same problem? a cure? or should i not care? help appreciated as usual.
thanks Graham

Hi grumpuszed1,
I have seen the little 's' pipe for sale on evil bay now and again, i once used a short piece of black pipe to join the breather into the airbox until i got the proper one, just make sure its not kinked, my zeds some times get like yours if i only nip into town on a couple of occasions, Once its warmed up and had a good thrashing its all ok. If you dont use it much then just make sure you change the oil often. all bike engines will be the same if not used enough. worst is if you only commute a few miles each day and it has'nt got warm enough to burn the water vapour off. GET OUT AND USE IT
