Need help fast!!! Can't get shaft drive swing arm off.

#1 PostAuthor: kiwi kdx » Tue May 14, 2013 11:40 am

Hey guys does anyone know how to get the 2 pins that hold a shaft drive swingarm out?

I have the 3 bolt caps off and can see the pins I had assumed they would have a thread in them
So I could screw something in and pull them out, but nothing???????

I need this off ASAP as someone is coming to pick it up in 2 days.

If its a z1000 shaft then there should be an allen key fitting in the middle of the pin.
Leave the 3 bolts in and the pin will unscrew using the allen key fitting.

If there is a round hole in the middle they have been stripped like mine.
I had to hammer a torq type bit in to remove them.

IF IT HAS NOT GOT A THREAD IN THE CENTRE OF THE BUSH YOU WILL HAVE TO DRILL + TAP A THREAD TO 6MM TO REMOVE IT . THE Z1300 HAS A 6MM THREAD IN THE CENTRE + IS A VERY SIMILAR BUSH BUT IF IT HAS NEVER BEEN REMOVED YOU WILL NEED A PULLER AFTER YOU HAVE PUT A THREAD IN THE BUSH AS IT IS LIKELY TO BE SEIZED
