RE5's FIRST OUTTING

Along with 75z and others we escorted Gordo on his RE5's maidin ride, fresh outta the States where it sat in a museum, just on 10,00klm's.

I'm still not sure what to make of it yet!!!!

Maybe some good parts for a GT750 Water Bucket.

Lead Wing Owners Club had their AGM in town today, that was goodnuff reason to clear out.

i thought the clocks on the re5s were like a barrel shape. :?:

You are correct.
The clocks were housed in a cylinder and did'nt the perspex cover roll down when then the ignition was switched on.

There aren't that many interchangeable parts apparently.

They were like that on the first bikes. This is a later 'A' model (only available in Black) and was a re-vamped version to try and improve sales, as the bike didn't catch on.

they replaced em for summat less radical in 1976 :|

The RE5 has to be the most dissapointing bike I ever owned :roll: The only relation to it being a motorcycle is that it has Two wheels! It does NOTHING well . . I can't believe I was stupid enough to buy another One - they are AWFUL it's like riding a H**** generator - The bike that almost broke Suzuki, each one was reported to have cost Suzuki $28,000 :shock:

I rode one of RB"s in the USA.
Very strange!
Flat as a fart, read gutless, and the heat from the motor was summit else!
They do look different though especially the early one with the cylinder clocks

I used to go from school at lunch time to look at one and the gt750. Saw a lad crash on a GT750 on the sea front wearing sandals , short and tee shirt....
It's not a bike that I would now give up another bike for though the cylinder clocks.......
