steering taper Head bearings for Z1000 A1

#1 PostAuthor: gordon62 » Thu Apr 18, 2013 3:14 pm

Hi ALL,
Just wondered where best place to get a set of steering taper bearings,
I just purchase a set from pyrimid"s, but I was not impress with them, one was nochy before I even started, and the seal they supply seems to rub on the bearing, which would make it bind..I had this problem when I fitted one to my son"s little onda 125...anyhow, I have sent them back for refund, so trying to get another set, I want to fix a quality set, some of the ones I see are economy bearing"s, which to me means cheap from china most prob..koyo"s would be good, but dont think they do the size I need..I see debben"s list a set, but dont know what make they are..any idea"s would be great...
cheers...

Try "simply bearings" .com (or .co.uk?)

All-Balls is top notch (sic) stuff

I've used them in my old XR400R - head & rear suspension joints.... also just fitted some in my TT500 steering head - no problems encountered to date

I recently fitted a set of All Balls  to my toast rack project.

Came from Jeff at Z1 enterprises. Seem good quality with built in dust seal.
Not done a whole lot of miles on 'em yet, but from what I've seen so far, I'll have another set on my next project. :D

steering head and swing arm bearings...

#7 PostAuthor: Vendetta761 » Fri Apr 26, 2013 10:19 am

Hello gents, i am looking for steering head and swing arm bearings for my ,79 Z 1000 E1 ST, I have looked at All balls and they seem good for $33 but then Z power are showing two different bearings for top and bottom steering head for £75 +. big difference and not wanting to buy cheap and be disapointed or buy expensive if I dont have to , Z1 enterprizes show $34 for similar to Allballs.
In regards to swing arm, Z power want £28 a piece,Z! Ent dont seem to do them and neither do all balls.
Any other recommendations before i dive in ?

Eh, sorry Nigel, I must of missed that, sure it was me, if it was then sorry about the early onset Alzheimers.
who are you again, what are we talking about?
Not sure i remember asking about them before but seeing as the old ones are out with the frame and arm at Griffs for a paintjob I will need a set, what have you got please remind me if you still have them, cash and quality biscuits paid for the right stuff or even maybe swap for stank, was that you too?
Need to sit down I think if I cannot remember things now , whats it going to be like when i get to to 21 ?
