handlebar vibration

#1 PostAuthor: floydsz1 » Sun Aug 26, 2007 10:36 pm

im getting pins and needles in my right hand on me z1a, same thing happened on my a4, any ides how to stop it . Its not very bad just anoying, or do i have to just put up with it. I know bar ends help to cancel vibration, have thought about putting some lead in the end of the (standard) handlebars, just wondered if anyone has had same probs.

Assuming the carbs are balanced etc? This may sounds a bit flippant, but stop cruising at the same speed, keep off motorways if possible. The engine might only vibrate at a certain engine speed so give it some welly, use the gear box and scrub off the edges of your tyres.........yahoo lol

Those 'bar end weights' are designed to alter the resonation frequency, which changes the amplitude at which the harmonics build up & cause vibration. :?
Try adding weight in the handle bar ends (lead sheet or similar) and this should stop it

Cheers pigford,
i remember many years ago a mate raced a t500 suzuki  in a special frame and that was bloody awful for vibration and i seem to remember we put lead in his clipons,.
its not that bad but anything that helps is worth a go as i tend to ride it as often as i can. I've broken both my wrist a couple of times in the past so they do get quite painful sometimes,Ill give it a go.

Try foam type handle bar grips , I had the same problem with pins and needles and putting those on has cured it completly.
