Why not get the fins repaired,

I just had some done on a bike I am restoring and you cannot tell they have been done it would save you all the trouble.

good point from kwackaz1 if its just the fins that is prompting you do do this work just get the fins welded. no need to strip or remove the engine

thanks for the link and info,the place you use is not that far from me really,do you have any photos of before/after fin repair,I wouldnt want to get it done only to find it doesnt look right

sorry no i Have not got any photos. the guy is a bike enthusiast + does many repairs of this type on a lot of British bikes + he is cheap + you wont get ripped of. he made me a z1300 grab rail which are difficult to get hold of i got a grab rail from a friend for him to copy + only charged me £25

I've had a couple done - if welded & finished off nice, it don't even show :wink:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

I got some fins fixed. It was not the top fin so the guy cut the top one off and then fixed both. Not ideal but worked fine, just a bit of time.

Dave higgs of higgspeed exhaust fame in the blackpool area repairs broken fins.
Done a few on my triples and a top quality job :D
