exhaust gaskets

hello gents could anyone help me by telling me how many exhaust gaskets you need to fit on a gpz1100 exhaust. just removed a harris 4 into 1 and there was two up each port is this corrrect or have they done this to get a better seal on a non standard system.many thanks in advance john

you should only have one in each port but some after market exhausts do not have a thick enough flange on the end of the pipe where it fits into the head + when bolted up the exhaust clamp bottom's out against the cylinder head preventing it from compressing the gasket fully

Yup 1...although i had to use 2 second hand ones once to get an exhaust to seal ok
