slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww progress

#31 PostAuthor: KWACKERZ1 » Mon Jan 14, 2013 1:21 pm

Very disappointing progress over Christmas and since due to the usual family distractions.

So not a lot worth photographing, but i have,

Sorted out the wiring,
Cleaned up and refitted the original carbs and filters,
Fitted a chain guard,

sorted the brakes out on the front with replacement calipers (cheers PaulMc) and radial master cylinder.

Fitted some rear sets,

Oh and a few other bits like a shorty front mudgaurd new clock covers and bulbs, and fork brace.

And basically got it running, so I only have a few jobs to do now before fitting the proper bodywork.

Slow progress but it ain't going anywhere whilst its snowing!!

Changed the ZRX shocks for Dial a rides as the zrx shocks are that bit longer, I may refit them to try on at a later date, but just not sure is the extra height would be to much.

Also fitted a new Harris badge,

Not much left to do just awaiting badge screws and clips!

This is probably a first for me on here a project finished in less than several years, well almost.

Fitted the badges and the bodywork today just need the fuel tap and some petrol and its done.

I will get some better pics when I can get it outside and the snows gone but almost there now.

The 2:4 seats look so much better when you bin the grab rail and indicators, the lines flow beautifully from tank to seat :D :D

Looks well lush.... This is the sort of style of PERIOD Old Skool that I'm leaning towards for me Z1000B2 project
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Thanks guys for the comments,

Grambo,

It is a 1978 a1 model,

Davejames,

The tail piece has been lifted at the back slightly to better fit with the seat as there was a big gap initially!

Piggy,
The old skool look is much easier than marrying up new forks wheels and brakes and I sometimes think it actually suite's these old beasties best. (Must be an age thing  )

Looks bootiful. I love the 2-4 seats, they really suit the old Zeds.

I had one on my B for a few years, found it far comfier than the o.e. seat contrary to popular opinion :D :D ..............probably because I have a more delicately proportioned arse compared to some on here

Oh shit I hope Jimmock doesn't read this
