Will a Z1 splashguard fit a Z900?

#1 PostAuthor: LondonZ1 » Sun Jan 20, 2013 7:13 pm

I am looking for a replacement splashguard that goes in front of the rear wheel. Doremi do an ABS plastic one for a Z1/A/B but they don't do one for a Z900. The Kawasaki part numbers for the Z1/A/B is 35022071 and the part number for a Z900 is 35022137. Does anyone know if the Z1 part would fit a Z900 with no or minor surgery?

Thanks

Link to Z1 spares australia,

States part fits Z900A4, Z1R, Z1000 (which would be Z1000A1 or A2 ? )

Thanks Adrian. Also says that it won't fit a Z1 so I guess that answers my question. I'll have to find a Z900 one.

I bought a side panel from LPM and was not impressed with the quality. If the LPM fender is as well made as the side panel, then my 35-year old slightly battered fender will be in better condition than a new LPM one.

Thanks for the answers though, it looks like a Doremi fender for a Z1 won't fit my Z900. The mounting holes at the top look completely different. I'll give my old one a t-cut/polish and try and get the scratches out.

Yes, I noticed that. I suspect they're all made by LPM. There are very few suppliers of pattern bodywork for Z900s but lots for Z1's. My Z900 frame has been modded to take Z1 side panels mainly to avoid having to use LPM Z900 ones.

Curious... I used LPM side rails and rear mudguard for my Z1R and was very happy with the quality.

Wonder if the originals LPM used were not good enough?

Hmmmm... in fact this brings me to another thought regarding LPM. But that's for a different thread.

Z-FEVER in germany list a Z1000 inner fender, but a bit pricey.
