I think it's the 25th image on the gallery.
Also see the images in the Hesse books.
Rootbeer is lighter than Jaffa.

After a little more research it would appear that the first 2200 bikes were a little lighter in colour i.e rootbeer.
The paint process is well described on the Paintworkz site.

ray , rootbeer and jaffa is the same colour \ kandy / its just that some people call it rootbeer etc .

dont be confused jim its simple ,the jaffa or rootbeer if ya like are the same colour . the same base, flake and kandy was used on both the 72 and 73 bikes ,now the shade is another story .

I'm not really sure if I'm still confused or not.

I was most definately confused earlier, but now I dont know if I am or not.

I seem to get confused easily nowadays, I find this subject of rootbeers and jaffas all really quite confusing. I'm really quite mixed up about all this.

Could some one please take some of the confusion out of this obviously confusing subject and make me feel a little less confused and mixed up.

I found the colours for the candy z1 to be a pearl white base coat,a black base,a gold pearl top coat then z1candytone orange followed by clear coat.
Part numbers.
Pearl white K41030-029
black K41030-32
gold pearl K41030-31
orange K41030-027
clear K41030-033

Ive the paint info on a PDF file,but Ive no idea how to share it?????
It covers a load of old paint jobs.

dixie the original way was to paint them white ,line em out and then black remove tape coat with silver flake then kandy .

The paint procedure is usually carried out in the correct way it is the lining that is normally not done as original.So many tanks spoilt on the Z1/A/Bs.
Probably why so many go for a Doremi set.
