REAR DISC QUERY

#1 PostAuthor: dave cullen » Wed Jan 09, 2013 1:02 pm

hi,

my Z1000A1 rear wheel is quite hard to turn when bike on stand for chain oiling/cleaning etc; it wheels about easily enough, and does not heat up when running at all, so im pretty sure the pads arent binding; its always been like this, and as none of my other disc braked bikes have a centre stand for easy comparison, i just cant figure out if its meant to spin freely like a drum brake, or if its just the way it is with models such as the Z1000/Z1R etc?

appreciate any views

thanks

could be a bearing on the way out or over tightened wheel or missing spacer, it should run easily

Lever the pads away from the disc and try wheeling it again, it should move freely if not....as said b4 bearings/missing spacers/ or chain?
